ocp_logo Installation process of Oracle 9iR2 32-bit (9.2.0.1) on  RedHat AS 3 x86 (RHEL 3) / CentOS 3 x86

Please follow the steps below to install base software of Oracle 9iR2 (9.2.0.1).

When you execute /mnt/cdrom1/runInstaller as oracle user, you will get the below screen.

Click Next

Enter the name of the Oracle Home and then Click Next

Select the first option (Oracle9i database 9.2.0.1.0) and Click Next

Select "Custom" Installation Type and then CLICK Nect.

CLICK Next

The Default Value is "dba". Leave the default value and CLICK Next.

Usually, the OMS repository sshould reside in its own database. but i have selected the first Option
as  this software is not being installed on Production server.

Please follow the steps below to install base software of Oracle 9iR2 (9.2.0.1).

Select "No" and CLICK Next

Insert disk 2 and 3 when asked and then CLICK Next

At this point, ignore this error of ins_ctx.mk file as this is fixed in 9.2.0.4 patch when we apply it later.

Also CLICK Ignore on this one as it is fixed in patch 3119415.

setup_privs

Open another terminal and connect as root and run /9i/product/9.2.0/root.sh script
[root@shree.oracledba.org root]# /9i/product/9.2.0/root.sh
CLICK OK

CLICK Next to configure Oracle Net8 components.

Select "No" and CLICK Next

Select LISTENER_9I and CLICK Next. You can leave the default listener of LISTENER.

Enter the Port number. DO NOT leave the default velue of 1521 here.

At the End of configuration wizard, you will be asked to confifure Enterprise manager through emca.
Click No, as you can configure this at any time after successfully installed Oracle 9iR2.
